Help with One Tap Film

Most answers are below or in the guide. For anything else, write to me. I read every message and usually reply within two working days.

Common questions

The camera stays black or says it can't open.

One Tap Film needs camera access. On iPhone, open Settings, then Apps, then One Tap Film, and turn on Camera. On Android, open Settings, then Apps, then One Tap Film, then Permissions, and allow Camera. Then go back to the app. If another app is using the camera, close that app first.

A photo didn't save.

The app keeps the photo and tries again. If the save keeps failing, the shutter changes to a retry button. Tap it to try again. New photos wait behind it, so nothing is lost. On iPhone, check that One Tap Film may add to Photos: Settings, then Apps, then One Tap Film, then Photos.

What is the number on the small photo?

It counts the photos that are still developing. The app develops each photo at full size in the background. Up to six can wait at once.

The gallery is empty, or some photos are missing (iPhone).

The gallery needs to read Photos to find the photos taken with One Tap Film. If you chose Limited Access, the gallery shows only the photos you allowed. To change this, open Settings, then Apps, then One Tap Film, then Photos, and choose Full Access. The gallery shows only photos taken with One Tap Film, so screenshots and photos from other apps never appear in it.

Describe Edits says it isn't available.

Describe Edits needs your phone's own AI. On iPhone, that's Apple Intelligence on a supported iPhone, turned on in Settings, then Apple Intelligence & Siri. On Android, it's Gemini Nano on a supported phone. The model may need to download first, so try again later on Wi-Fi. Film names, like “the Cinema film”, work on every phone.

The microphone doesn't work in Describe Edits.

On iPhone, allow both Microphone and Speech Recognition for One Tap Film in Settings, then Apps, then One Tap Film. On Android, allow Microphone in the app's permissions. If your phone can't recognise speech in your language, the microphone isn't shown. You can still type, or use your keyboard's own dictation.

A film shows a lock.

Standard, Saturated and Mono are free. The other 43 films need the 7-day trial or the All Films purchase. Tap a locked film to start the trial or to buy All Films.

How do I get All Films back on a new phone?

In the film picker, tap a locked film, then tap Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account on iPhone, or the same Google account on Android. A purchase on the App Store doesn't carry over to Google Play, or the other way round.

How do I ask for a refund?

The store takes the payment, so the store handles refunds. On iPhone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, open Google Play, then Payments & subscriptions, then Budget & history, or ask Google Play for help. Testers in the Android beta make test purchases and aren't charged.

How do I undo a Describe Edits change I saved?

On iPhone, open the photo in Photos, tap Edit, then Revert. On Android, open the photo in One Tap Film, tap Describe Edits, take back every edit, and tap Save. The app brings back the original.

I deleted a photo by mistake.

Right after you delete a photo in the app, tap Undo. Later, look in Recently Deleted in Photos on iPhone, or in your gallery app's bin or trash on Android.
